We stayed here as a family for leisure purpose and really enjoyed our stay. Positives: * Lovely freshly cooked breaks, and you can ask for anything extra you may like. * Staff throughout the stay made an effort to speak, especially restaurant staff were friendly and accommodating especially making effort with our boys chatting and making light conversation. * the room was lovely and clean and freshly made beds and clean towels each morning. * The food was lovely, although one of children wasn’t very well with travelling up from Essex, we didn’t get chance to try the evening restaurant, or the gym. But I will be in our next stay later in the year. * The views from our room were lovely and we had room service which was quick and easy to do. The hotel as a hotel we found really intriguing with lots of culture and history definitely worth a stay and was same price as other hotels in area which made it a no brainer for quality and choice. Negative: Only thing we could find to be honest was the shower cubicle had grout stains and although was clean it looked a little off putting to the naked eye.

The staff were wonderful on reception. The whole place is warm and welcoming. Lucy especially on reception. We were in the area with our charity to give a presentation and the meeting ran over so we missed dinner at the hotel. When we asked at the restaurant for just something the guy said sorry we;re closed. We asked Lucy on recepetion if we could perhaps have extra biscuits. She came back with a lovely chocolate dessert for us. She could not have done more. Thank you Lucy.

There was a great choice for breakfast , everything from cereal to fruit, croissants , cooked breakfast , I was offered porridge . Staff were so lovely ,friendly and welcoming from my arrival at reception to the restaurant staff, they were so kind and couldn’t do enough for me , aftet a tough personal day. Room was clean, bed comfy, tea and coffee tray with biccies included. Great shower and toiletries. I’ll stay t the Dunkenhalgh again.

The building was great, the room was brilliant - this was a suite (apart from the slightly dodgy ancient heating where the bathroom radiator was uncontrollable!) The food was OK but the menu choice was singularly boring and I did have to complain about the chicken burger where the bacon was undercooked and the chicken overcooked and chewy- did get 50% off the bill for this). Staff were great and friendly and helpful!

Staff were unfailingly pleasant and helpful. Room was extremely spacious with comfortable twin beds, clean linen and beautiful modern bathroom with lovely products. Delicious evening meal in restaurant and good buffet breakfast. Portable heater and jug of fresh milk delivered to the room on request. Prices were very reasonable for our 2 nights b&b plus evening meal.
